Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). This verse was incredibly impactful in my life as a young adult when I was struggling to find security in the world. God was patient and gracious with me and showed me that I could not find complete security in any person on this earth. My parents divorced when I was seven, I had a blended family, my biological dad passed away when I was in high school and my stepdad and mom divorced the next year. I tried to create control in my relationships, but everything in life felt unsteady and insecure – and so did I. God lovingly showed me that I could trust Him and his love was steady. Death could not keep Him, and He would never leave me nor forsake me. What a relief! I continue to find peace in His promises and feel called to lead others to His well that never runs dry.
