I’m a licensed professional counselor in Virginia, an EMDR-certified therapist, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Before diving into counseling, I spent time in the U.S. Navy, managed retail stores, drove forklifts, taught Christian education, and worked in bi-vocational ministerial roles.

I recently completed my Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling (Ed.D.), with a marriage and family counseling specialization, from Liberty University. My dissertation explored experiential, attachment-based premarital workshops. Now, I’m an Adjunct Instructor for Liberty University’s Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling program.

In my professional life, I’m connected with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). My advanced training includes workshops and externships that focus on creating lasting connections, emotionally focused therapy, and various facilitator training programs, like PREPARE/ENRICH and SYMBIS, which are designed to enhance marriage and family counseling.

I’ve been happily married to my amazing wife for more than 30 years. I’m blessed with three wonderful adult children, a son-in-love, and a daughter-in-love. I’m also a proud grandpa to a beautiful grandson. My love for Disney/Pixar is almost like a need, much like my enthusiasm for comic books, especially Spider-Man. I find peace by the water, especially the ocean, and I love to travel, dreaming of places like Israel and Hawaii. Blue is my favorite color, and while I often buy books, I usually end up buying more than I can read. Vegetables aren’t really my thing.
