Hi. I’m Debra and this is my second career. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island. I’m also licensed in NC as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and a Board Certified Christian Counselor. I happen to be a person in recovery with twenty years of sobriety in May 2026.

At 47 I became a Christian after an encounter with the Lord at one of the lowest points in my life and that changed my life forever. I felt His calling to become a mental health counselor and an addictions specialist, and headed back to school to find what I hoped would be my purpose.

I’m passionate about working with people who are dealing with the trouble that plagues us human beings. My goal is to help you gain clarity about your issues and find workable solutions. I’ll help you build resilience and address the unique challenges in your life. You no longer have to try to figure it out all on your own. I believe that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.

My approach is genuineness. I believe that establishing trust is the foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. I ensure that you feel heard and respected. I am able to support you if you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, substance use, suicidal ideation, stress, aging, life changes, family issues, cancer, grief and trauma.

Change can feel challenging, requiring strength and bravery to continue making progress, especially during difficult times. It’s common to feel uncertain about what to do when we encounter obstacles. Reaching out for support from someone with an objective view can make a difference in helping you navigate your path and work  through the challenges you face.
