My path into counseling has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to understanding people, supporting growth, and offering hope in challenging times. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science while studying at Abilene Christian University and Texas A&M University, where I developed a strong foundation in behavior, environment, and the many factors that influence well‑being. I later completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Hardin Simmons University, equipping me with the clinical skills and evidence‑based approaches I use in my practice today.
In addition to my academic training, I am an ordained minister and a life coach. While I have not served in a traditional ministry role, I have had the privilege of performing numerous marriage ceremonies and speaking at graduation commencements, athletic banquets, and youth rallies. These opportunities have allowed me to walk alongside people during meaningful milestones, and they have deepened my passion for encouraging young people and helping them navigate the pressures and uncertainties of today’s world.
My counseling style is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and a belief in each person’s capacity for resilience. I strive to create a supportive, non‑judgmental space where clients can explore their stories, build confidence, and move toward meaningful change. Whether working with teens, adults, or families, I bring a blend of clinical insight, life experience, and genuine care to every session. I believe that healing happens in the context of connection, and I work to ensure that each client feels seen, heard, and valued.
My personal life has shaped my work just as much as my professional training. I have been married to my wife for 44 years, and our relationship has taught me the importance of patience, communication, humor, and grace. The lessons learned through decades of partnership inform the way I support couples and families who are striving to strengthen their own relationships.
Outside of my professional work, I love spending time on the golf course. The rhythm of the game, the challenge of each shot, and the quiet space it creates for reflection make golf one of my favorite ways to recharge. I’m also a big fan of Mexican food and enjoy exploring the many great restaurants scattered throughout the Texas Hill Country. Good chips and salsa, a relaxed atmosphere, and time with people I care about are some of my favorite simple joys.
Whether I’m counseling in the office, speaking to a group of students, or enjoying a round of golf on a sunny afternoon, my goal is the same: to encourage, uplift, and help people move toward a healthier, more hopeful version of themselves.
