My life and calling has been shaped by God’s grace and a deep conviction that healing and hope are ultimately found in Christ. I came to faith as a young man through the realization that my own strength and accomplishments could never fill the deeper needs of the heart. Over the years, through both military service and ministry, I have witnessed the reality of human suffering and the redemptive power of God’s love. These experiences have strengthened my passion to walk with others through seasons of pain, loss, and uncertainty, helping them discover the peace and purpose that Christ offers.
One of the Scriptures that continually guides my work is 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (ESV): Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
This verse reminds me that effective care flows from the comfort we ourselves have received from God. It grounds my counseling in compassion, humility, and shared humanity. Another guiding passage is Romans 12:2, which calls us to be “transformed by the renewal of your mind.” In therapy, I see this as aligning our thoughts and emotions with God’s truth so that genuine transformation can take place.
In my counseling practice, I see Scripture not as an overlay to psychological care but as its foundation. I integrate Biblical principles with evidence-based counseling methods to address the whole person: spiritual, emotional, and relational. My goal is to help clients see how God’s Word speaks into their struggles, providing both direction and comfort.
When appropriate, sessions may include prayer, Scripture reflection, or discussion of how one’s faith intersects with their mental and emotional health. I believe that healing occurs when truth and grace work together (John 1:14). Therefore, I strive to create a space where clients feel both safe and challenged to grow in the likeness of Christ.
My approach is informed by passages such as Psalm 34:18, which assures us that “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit,” and Galatians 6:2, which reminds us to “bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” These verses reflect my conviction that counseling is not only a profession but a ministry of presence, compassion, and hope.
