Jennifer Hicks, M.Ed, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) has worked as a Christian counselor for over 25 years & combines genuine compassion, grace-filled Biblical truths, a solid education and professional experience. “Streams in the Valley Counseling” is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Christian counseling center that provides outpatient services to people in the state of Texas. We provide hope, help, and healing through professional counseling. We offer clients in-person sessions in our central Texas office (Round Rock/Austin, TX) as well as telehealth sessions online (to anyone in Texas)

Specialties include: anxiety, depression, grief, ministry staff & families, stress, women’s issues, & premarital.  We offer individual, family, and couples counseling.  Counseling services include all ages:   children, teenagers & adults (ages 5 yo+)
She uses a combination of therapy techniques and theories, focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered, interpersonal, and emotionally focused techniques.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and a member of Christian Counselors
of Texas (CCTX).
Her educational background is: M.Ed. (Educational Psychology in community counseling) &
BA (Psychology with minor in substance abuse studies). Both degrees are from Texas Tech
University in Lubbock, TX.
Jennifer is married, and they have 2 teenagers (and also consider their dogs important members
of their family). She grew up as a PK (preacher’s kid), with her dad as a Lutheran pastor. She
has a special passion for counseling people, including those who work in ministry & their
families. This is also part of where her calling to become a counselor came from and is reflected
in her love of Jesus and her love of people. She is an approved counselor provider for the Texas
district of LCMS called church workers.
We strive to meet clients where they are and to provide a therapeutic safe place to process, learn coping skills, practice interpersonal skills, improve mental health, use resources, and strengthen support systems. This approach helps our clients live their lives with more healing, resolution, balance, peace, and confidence.
