My approach to Christian Counseling is rooted in Christian teachings, complemented by scientifically supported techniques that honor both faith and evidence. I believe that God crafted our brains, bodies, personalities, and experiences to make us the unique individuals we are. Our reactions and preferences mirror that individual spirit! As we walk through life’s journey, we recognize that we’re not immune to sin’s influence or the brokenness of our world. Still, with compassion and care, I help individuals and couples discover areas in their lives—whether in their goals, beliefs, relationships, or spiritual growth—that may be holding them back. I create a safe, inviting space where you can feel comfortable asking heartfelt questions of God—whether about suffering, hurt, abuse, trauma, spiritual doubts, or uncovering God’s plan for your life. I’m here to walk alongside you with kindness, encouragement, and understanding every step of the way on your mental health journey.

With individuals, I use various techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which examines how your actions, thoughts, and beliefs about yourself or your life influence each other. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps us identify ways that your actions or situations might better align with your values or goals. Third is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which assists us in becoming comfortable with feelings that feel contradictory—feeling two ways about the same situation. My goal is to support you in strengthening your emotional and mental well-being and to help you see how your thoughts, actions, or beliefs impact both you and those around you. Together, we may work on understanding and changing unhelpful thought patterns, as mentioned in Rom. 12:2, or explore the rich emotions found in Psalms to navigate difficult situations. In all areas, we focus on Christ, who perfectly expressed godly emotions in every way. If you’ve experienced hurt from the actions or beliefs of other Christians, please know I am here to help you reclaim the joy of God’s salvation without blame, shame, or condemnation.

When working with couples, I enjoy helping you strengthen your emotional connection, resolve conflicts, and heal from past wounds caused by either partner. I primarily use the Gottman Method, supported by over 40 years of research, often called the ‘Sound Marital House,’ which highlights the importance of building a strong foundation and pursuing dreams within conflict. I am also trained in Prepare/Enrich, an approach designed to prepare couples for marriage, enhance their relationship, and conduct regular ‘relationship check-ups.’ This method celebrates strengths, identifies growth areas, promotes honest communication, and addresses issues early. I aim to foster intentional, healthy relationship growth and support couples through various challenges. Whether you’re dealing with ongoing disagreements, infidelity, communication issues, trust concerns, intimacy problems, dating difficulties, reconnecting after time apart, parenting stress, financial disagreements, or major life changes, I am here to guide and support you on your healing journey.

I look forward to working with you!
