“We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

Life is full of trials, heartaches, and wounds—some visible, others hidden deep within. Just as antibiotics are needed to heal physical infections, our hearts require spiritual and emotional healing when brokenness sets in. Healing takes time, intention, and the right treatment. There are no shortcuts. True restoration begins when we address the root, not just the symptoms.

From a Christian perspective, the ultimate source of healing is Jesus Christ. His love is the foundation of all transformation. Because He first loved us, we are empowered to love ourselves and others. That love becomes the medicine for our wounded hearts.

What are some heart-healing prescriptions from a biblical lens?

Self-awareness — Recognizing our need for grace and growth
Forgiveness — Extending mercy as Christ forgave us
Understanding — Seeking wisdom through Scripture and prayer
Renewal of the mind — Aligning our thoughts with God’s truth (Romans 12:2)
Purpose — Discovering our God-given calling
Connection and belonging — Living in community as the body of Christ

As a counselor, I integrate evidence-based practices with biblical principles to help clients overcome emotional and psychological challenges. Whether the wounds are long-standing or recent, healing is possible when we treat the whole person—mind, body, and soul—with Christ at the center.

My journey has taken me through diverse settings: non-profits, prisons, forensic inpatient units, and military communities. I offer individual, couples, and family counseling. As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), a U.S. Army veteran, a wife of 20 years, and a mother of three, I understand the complexities of life and the beauty of resilience. I also embrace the discipline of triathlon training, which reminds me daily of the endurance required for healing.

Above all, I believe that true wholeness comes from the One who created us, knows us intimately, and loves us unconditionally. Healing begins with His love—and flows outward into every part of our lives.
