Personal Testimony & Faith Integration

In the early 1990s, before I entered ministry, I had a life-changing moment while sitting in a grocery store parking lot. I noticed a man I knew who was living with AIDS. As I watched from a distance, my heart grew heavy, and I silently prayed, “Lord, where are the people filled with the Holy Ghost?” I made a personal vow that if God ever filled me with His Spirit, I would never sit down on it and would use it to bless and help others. At that time, I wasn’t thinking about ministry, but I knew without a doubt that the Holy Ghost was real and that God could heal.

In November 2000, I entered ministry, and by 2005, I was serving as a pastor until 2011. I committed to God that I would go into the highways and hedges to compel people to come to Him, as He instructed in His Word. Around that time, I began my educational journey in Human Services, initially believing it was simply a pathway to a good career. But God had a greater plan. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from East Carolina University, and He led me to continue into the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program. It was then that God confirmed, “Now you are where I need you to be to help My people.”

After graduating, I walked through many seasons of preparation and growth. In 2025, God launched me into my own private practice, where He instructed me to provide Christian mental health counseling to His sheep. My background in integrative care gave me insight into the frequent reliance on medication alone. Time and time again, I witnessed that many struggles were deeply spiritual in nature. When clients came to me, I sought God’s guidance, allowing Him to lead each session so His will could be done.

Today, I continue to integrate biblical principles into my evidence-based counseling approach. My prayer is always to be a vessel the Holy Spirit can use—bringing healing, deliverance, and restoration to those God entrusts to my care.
