I have been a therapist since 1997 and use a strengths-based, person-centered approach while practicing Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapy, meditation, introspective and faith-based approaches for individual adults or couples. I am certified in EMDR, Gottman Level I, Prepare-Enrich Facilitation, mindfulness and grief counseling. I utilize Prepare-Enrich assessments and Gottman interventions for couples therapy. I am trained in Christian integrative approaches for those who would like to have faith be a part of the process and  believe, especially with the Holy Spirit, redemption from psychological distress is possible for everyone. I believe that compassion and hope are the essential elements for creating an environment in every session in which change can occur, and resiliency and recovery can flourish.

Micah 6:8:  “What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God”

I graduated with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University in 1997 and then graduated with a Doctorate in Christian Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2019 from Liberty University. I also completed a 2-year program to be a Spiritual Director and am a professional Life Coach. Additionally, I am an adjunct professor at Regent University teaching in the Graduate level Counseling Ministries department. I have conducted and published clinical research utilizing Christian Accommodated Mindfulness to treat depression, anxiety and shame. I speak at professional counseling conferences and church workshops and continue to author publications to advance the integration of Christianity and Counseling. I have a passion for meeting at the intersection of faith and psychology and bring more than 30 years of learning as well as leaning on God to the counseling space.
