There is Little talk or knowledge of spiritual disillusionment.  However, for followers of Christ, the wounds of the soul and the brokenness of the spirit can create more mental distress than what we know of the body, the emotions and the psyche.  In my personal life and my work I have been challenged to find healing at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ.  Believing that God’s word is good for all things.  It was at the foot of the cross that I finally started to see mood leveled out, anxieties calmed, and trauma healed.  My approach to Christian counseling is helping clients pave pathways to the foot of the cross.  Where all things are clear.

According 2 Corinthians 10:2-5 the  mental and emotional anguish that motivates us to seek therapy can be relieved in the face of Jesus Christ.

Alesia Starks is a Practitioner Faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary, serving in the Marriage and Family Therapy Department, a faith integrated program, since 2021.  She is exploring ways to develop symbiotic therapeutic approaches that are pliable to Christian beliefs and values.
