My work is grounded in the belief that faith is not passive comfort but an active force that calls men and women to responsibility, courage, and disciplined growth.
I am a therapist who integrates evidence-based therapy with a Christian worldview rooted in personal accountability, truth telling, and purposeful action. I also hold that certain moral truths exist independent of personal belief or religious affiliation. Responsibility, honesty, restraint, and respect for others are not negotiable values. They are foundational to healthy individuals and functioning communities.
One passage that guides my work is 1 Samuel 17:49, where David confronts overwhelming adversity without hesitation. He does not retreat, negotiate with fear, or outsource responsibility. He steps forward and prevails. That account reflects how I approach counseling. Avoidance is not treatment. Growth comes from facing problems directly and taking disciplined action.
In sessions, Biblical principles are incorporated when clinically appropriate and aligned with the client’s beliefs. This may include examining identity through a faith lens, addressing moral injury, strengthening discipline and stewardship, or aligning values with behavior. Scripture is not used to override reason, invalidate emotion, or replace accountability. Faith supports action, not avoidance.
Clients who work with me often value a direct, respectful approach that honors both psychological science and Christian conviction. My goal is not to replace faith with therapy or therapy with faith, but to integrate both in a way that leads to meaningful, lasting change.
