I am a graduate from Liberty Theological Seminary where I received a Master of Divinity Chaplaincy, and a graduate from Liberty University with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling, and a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling Marriage and Family.
I completed my pastoral competencies in Clinical Pastoral Education at The Ingalls Center of Pastoral Ministries in Birmingham, Alabama in the Baptist Healthcare System, and I am endorsed and board certified by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy and the Spiritual Care Association (SCA) as a Clinical Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor. Also, I am a member in good standing with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) where I received my Attachment Based Intervention Specialist Level I training. Finally, I am a board certified Master Mental Health and Trauma Informed Life Coach through the International Board of Christian Care (IBCC) and a member of the International Christian Coaching Association (ICCA).
I am a wounded healer, one who has experienced grief through childhood trauma and emotional neglect through parental divorce. However, some of the best comfort I found on my personal journey is through the pages of the Bible and through the process of Lament. Lament is the honest cry of a hurting heart wrestling with the paradox of pain and the promise of God’s goodness, Lamentations 3:22, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail,” (NIV). My heart has done that wrestling match. Lament usually asks these questions: “Where are you, God?” and “If you love me, why is this happening?” Have you ever asked yourself those questions? If so, you are in good company. My extensive experience working in crisis intervention for the past seventeen years as a clinician in hospice, hospital care, group and private practice can assist you in working through your pain. You can overcome the overwhelming and achieve relief from a noisy heart.
Reach out to my office today. I am here for you and I care.
