As a young child, I suffered sexual trauma from another child. Then I spent the next 25 years of my life suffering from depression and low self-esteem before finally seeking counseling. I also suffered a devastating miscarriage and had to take a leave of absence from work. The pain was indescribable, and no one could comfort me, not my husband, family, or friends. During those challenging times, God was the only one who saw me, collected all my tears, and eventually healed me. Now, I make it my life’s work to help other women find hope and healing from depression, sexual trauma, and the loss of their unborn child.

My favorite scripture is Romans 8:28. It is a beautiful reminder of how God works all things: the good, the bad, the ugly, for our benefit according to his purpose. So much of my life, I have asked God why certain things had to happen to me. Now I know that God did not orchestrate those bad things, but He can and will use everything for my good and for his purpose.

I work collaboratively with my clients in a Christ-Centered approach by incorporating biblical teachings into therapy sessions. When we don’t know what to do, we will pray and ask God for guidance. When things need clarification, we will look at what the word of God says about it. When things get hard, we will lean into it and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our session.
