I’m Alexis and I am proud to be a mental health clinician. I am experienced in working with every age group (age 4+) over the span of mental health concerns including clinical symptoms, relational distress, emotional disturbance, and behavioral adjustment. Additionally, I regularly serve couples in marriage counseling and families through family counseling/parenting support. Ideal clients are motivated for change, interested in exploring deep roots of present issues, and are willing to try what might be uncomfortable or new to take ownership of their health and become empowered to pursue TRUE healing and life transformation.

I am competent to work with those who are interested in integrating their personal faith with their mental health journey, and I also successfully welcome those who do not ascribe to any faith tradition and/or those who do not wish to integrate spirituality. Either way, I aptly challenge clients to courageously explore identity, truth, values, and patterns. As I work with clients, I hold the belief that true, lasting, meaningful change occurs only when individuals, through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, willingly enter into a place of vulnerability, accept and examine their own woundedness, and participate fully in a process of learning and practicing new mindsets and behaviors whilst shedding old ones. I love the scripture “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

I come into the counseling room with a Christian Biblical worldview that impacts how I conceptualize mental health, but without imposing that worldview on the client. I have worked with clients from all backgrounds and advocate for honoring the client’s autonomy and agency to do ethical, client-led and client-centered work. With a background in ministry, I understand that my job, training and preparation is only part of the equation, and that the true work is with YOU, the client. Your honesty, openness, and submission to the Spirit of God opens the door to limitless change through our God. There is nothing our God can’t do, but He does ask for our participation.
