Welcome to The Family Doctor – my specialty is Marriage/Family Therapy and Addictions Therapy – my Christian counseling approach that is deeply grounded in scripture integrates timeless biblical truth with practical, evidence-informed tools to encourage and walk with couples and families as they move toward God.  I believe that true and lasting healing comes through a living relationship with Jesus Christ who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).  I rely on scripture as a foundational guide for wisdom, forgiveness, identity, and relational restoration, while integrating evidence-based counseling tools to help address anxiety, trauma, depression, addiction, shame, communication breakdowns and family of origin emotional wounds. Whether I am working with individuals facing anxiety, addiction, shame, trauma or mental health struggles; couples navigating conflict, betrayal, codependency, love/relationship addiction or families who are seeking to break generations patterns and restore healthy boundaries – my goal is to walk alongside the individuals toward the abundant life Jesus promises (John 10:10). The Family Doctor is unique in its usage of biblically based models that are utilized in our online sessions to teach and visualize the underlying concepts that a particular session may be focused on. Following a session, a copy of this model is sent through email to the client with instructions and homework to be focused on throughout the week.  I approach counseling with an integration of cognitive-behavioral therapy, object-relations therapy and family systems theory.  I believe strongly that we have never looked into the eyes of someone that God doesn’t love.
