My faith in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior is the cornerstone of my life and practice. Before my day working with clients begins, I pray and ask the Lord for me to hear His Word, the Word He has for clients, the Word from Him that clients need for just such a time as they are experiencing. So many times clients have said that they felt that the Lord had spoken to them about a closer walk with Him, feeling called to return to Him, and that they were encouraged from then on, to walk more closely with the Lord during our sessions. I have several favorite Scriptures. One is Psalm 103. Other Scriptures that are meaningful to me are Scriptures on receiving salvation, such as John 14:6 and Romans 10:9-10. Another Scripture that is meaningful to me relates to hearing the Holy Spirit, following His leading and guiding, that is, ²¹ Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it, Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. (Isaiah 30:21 NKJV). this is my hope and prayer for what clients will hear during our sessions-clients hearing from the Lord. I listen with care to what clients share in our sessions, and have found many Christ-centered resources that clients have found helpful.
