Hello, I’m Shawnda, and I am a believer in Jesus Christ. My faith is not just something I talk about; it is part of how I live, how I see people, and how I approach the healing process. I believe God cares deeply about every part of us—our hearts, minds, emotions, relationships, and purpose.

My personal testimony is rooted in God’s faithfulness through different seasons of growth, healing, stretching, and learning to trust Him more deeply. Like many others, I know what it means to walk through seasons where you are trying to make sense of life, rebuild your confidence, and find hope again. Because of that, I count it an honor to walk alongside clients as they process what they are carrying and begin to see themselves through God’s truth.

Some scriptures that guide my work include Romans 12:2, which reminds us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and Psalm 139:14, which reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. These scriptures closely align with the heart of my work with clients: challenging negative thoughts, rebuilding self-worth, strengthening emotional wellness, and helping clients reconnect with their God-given identity. My desire is to help clients feel supported, seen, and encouraged as they work through difficult emotions and begin taking steps toward healing, confidence, and purpose.

In therapy, I integrate Biblical principles with evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, strengths-based support, and practical coping skills. When desired, sessions may include scripture reflection, prayer, faith-based journaling, encouragement from God’s Word, and conversations about applying Biblical truth to everyday life. I believe God’s Word can bring comfort, direction, correction, and hope as clients learn to renew their minds and walk in healthier patterns.

My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I strive to create a safe space where clients can be honest about what they are carrying without shame or judgment. I want clients to know they do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Together, we can work toward emotional healing, renewed hope, healthier thinking, stronger self-worth, and a deeper understanding of who God created them to be.
