I’m passionate about empowering individuals who have felt unseen, misunderstood, marginalized, and voiceless, and I love working with and empowering women in all stages of life. As a woman who has felt disempowered from past trauma and shame, I understand how to achieve greater self-worth and confidence while learning to embrace your authentic self. I find joy in helping people heal from past trauma, transform limiting beliefs of shame, become more secure in relationships, find meaning and purpose, and courageously tell their story.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and a Nationally Board Certified (NCC) counselor. I’m a former Kindergarten-12th grade art teacher and former Art Director of a therapeutic art program for trafficked children and adolescents in Ghana, West Africa. Since 2023, I’ve been involved in Eswatini, Africa working with children and adolescents in extreme poverty who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. It’s a joy to provide them with the opportunity for creative expression through art. These unique experiences overseas and in the states working with individuals who’ve experienced trauma have uniquely informed my passion and expertise in trauma.

I’m a trauma-informed, attachment-based, client-centered counselor who acknowledges your capacity to choose the direction, pace, and goals of therapy and recognizes the importance of developing strong, secure relationships. Through my strength-based, relational approach I equip you in identifying and developing your own strengths and passions. My nonjudgmental and affirming stance is based upon a genuine, empathetic, therapeutic relationship that provides a safe and accepting space for you to experience unconditional positive regard.

As an artist and counselor, Expressive Arts Therapy is one of my specializations to facilitate personal growth and healing from trauma, pain, loss, and hurt. My passion for Expressive Arts Therapy developed as I experienced firsthand the transformative power of creativity and art in my personal healing journey from trauma. Through my guidance, you learn new ways to use the nonverbal language of creativity to communicate your inner thoughts and feelings, which weren’t accessible by simply thinking or talking about them. I provide a variety of art forms, such as painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture, to assist you in creative expression, leading to a process of self-discovery and understanding. Since Expressive Arts Therapy is based upon the creative process, not on the final product, it is NOT necessary to have a background or training in the arts to benefit from this approach.

I support you in living a transformed, empowered life and in finding the courage to heal and be your authentic self. I consider it an honor and privilege to journey alongside you.
